Inter entered the campaign as reigning Serie A champions, replacing Ramón Díaz with German striker Jürgen Klinsmann, who had been a consistent goalscorer in the Bundesliga. Klinsmann wasted no time making his mark, scoring twice in the Coppa Italia, but the European campaign ended in disappointment with a shock exit to Malmö. Domestically, Inter managed to lift the Italian Supercup but struggled to match the strength of Milan and Maradona’s Napoli, eventually finishing third in Serie A.
Even though the results didn’t match the drama of the previous Scudetto-winning year, this shirt has become iconic. It was worn by legends such as Jürgen Klinsmann, Aldo Serena, and Giuseppe Bergomi, representing an era when Serie A was widely regarded as the best league in the world.
